45. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - News and Preview
Written on Thursday 5 June 2008 at 01:21 by Andy - 0 comments.

On the official site , there is new and exciting information about the forthcoming expansion for The Sims 2. Firstly, it shows us the new packshot and there are four screenshots to look at, showing some of the features.

Part of the description of what this EP is going to be about is as follows.

- Move into the perfect apartment: a spacious loft, a cozy place for a young couple, or a multi-bedroom flat-share with friends.
- Mingle with Sims from all-new social groups: stylish socialites, artsy bohemians, sports jocks, gadget-collecting techies, or edgy gearheads.
- Take advantage of apartment life: form social networks to make new friends, advance their careers, or look for love.
- Build your Sim's new reputation meter: with a good reputation, your Sim can find the right friends to help them achieve their goals!
- Control multiple households: will you make your Sims live in happy harmony or comical conflict?

With an indication of different types of possible apartment, a list of NPC types to add to the mix, different social interactions, having "a rep to protect" and what sounds like running more than one household in the same building, can this really be what is possible?

Click here to get the latest information from the official site and see more screenshots in detail. The more news we get, the more we will let you know and when the expansion pack is released in under 3 months, we will be reviewing it in detail.

Written on Friday 30 May 2008 at 11:00 by Andy - 0 comments.

And about time too.

After almost three months of waiting, there is finally a patch for FreeTime available from the official site, which can be downloaded from here.

Although there is a list as to the features that it supposedly fixes, I will get back to you later with my comments about whether it really does improve the game.

47. IKEA® is coming to The Sims 2
Written on Sunday 18 May 2008 at 01:58 by Andy - 1 comment.

Following on from Ford, Fiat and H&M Fashions using The Sims 2 as an advertising platform to promote their realworld products, it is now the turn of IKEA®.

"Whether you want to create a trendy, spacious office, a chic living room, or a cozy and inviting bedroom, you can make your Sims' dream house into something even better-a home. Design your Sims' rooms to fit their personalities with all-new sofas, beds, tables, TV units, shelving, and more, in a variety of colors and patterns for a truly unique look. Add the finishing touches with popular IKEA® wall art, mirrors, lighting, and vases. Be your Sims' personal interior designer with inspiring, contemporary styles from IKEA®."

Scheduled for release on June 24th and probably intended to whet our appetites for new official items until Apartment Life comes out about three months later, at this time The Sims 2 IKEA® Homestuff can be preordered for delivery or direct download from the official site with an unlockable Strind Side Table as a special bonus item.

For more screenshots and details, check out the official information right here!

48. Preliminary FreeTime Patch Available
Written on Thursday 24 April 2008 at 11:13 by ChEeTaH - 0 comments.
Although not advertised yet at the official site, there is a patch for FreeTime. This patch was made available some time ago, but has been recalled due to installation problems with it, according to the German site and this BBS thread. That means the patch is being updated and still being worked on. Nevertheless the installation file is still available on EA's FTP server. So while trying it out may cause new problems rather than solving them (and unfortunately it is not known which bugs should be solved by the patch), you can try downloading the 17.4 Mb patch from here. Use at your own risk!

49. FreeTime - Media so Far
Written on Friday 25 January 2008 at 20:10 by ChEeTaH - 0 comments.
Most of you will by now have heard about FreeTime, the seventh expansion pack for the Sims 2. Although we have been a little bit behind on all the news about it, it's time to play catch-up for a bit. Thus we have collected all available screenshots and other things for you to find below (in the "Read more" area).

Other than all those screenshots and artworks, there are two videos: a trailer and a music video of Natasha Bedingfield's "A Pocketful of Sunshine." That track is included in the expansion, of course all in Simlish. Furthermore there are hobby magazines for all of the hobbies, of which at the time of writing 6 have been revealed. The first of seven comic strips has also been published at the official site. Finally, the official UK site has a fansite kit with some material (also shown below) as well. A Prima Guide will be released at the same time as the game.

FreeTime is expected to be released in the week of February 25th (26th in the US, 29th in the UK).
