The Sims Unleashed.. Unleashed
Today is SimDay, and what has the official Sims website got for us? A load of new info about the upcoming Unleashed add-on pack, that's what. And guess what? There's more to it than just letting your Sims have pets. Oh yes. Click here to see the section yourself, or read on for a summary..

Despite there being other elements to the pack, the main part is of course the pets. In fact, it's one of the most requested add-ons to The Sims since it was originally released all those months ago. The good news is, then, the pets themselves actually seem to be quite advanced. You have to housebreak them, and then you can train them, buy toys for them, give them treats, and even dress them up in accessories - if you're in to that kind of thing.

The pets available are mainly different breeds of dogs and cats, but there are others too! If you want to actually see some of the selection available, click here to look at the official screen shots. Your sim has to visit a pet store to go and adopt them.. and I would imagine you could take them back there if the poor thing doesn't take to its new owners.

Outside of the pets, there are some quite nice upgrades and new features too. The pack will enable you to have bigger neighborhoods, as it comes with 40 residential and community lots. It also enables your Sims to take up one of five new careers, out of animal care, culinary, the circus, fashion or education. What's more, there are over 125 new objects included - such as a vegetable garden and a pet bath. Oh, and there's a 're-zoning' ability added that's too complicated to go into here.

Want to find out more? You have a few options then. You could click here to go to the front page of the new section, or go straight to the Unleashed FAQ. Here many of your questions will probably be answered.. from how much space the pack will take on your hard drive (950mb) to how many new interactions the pack adds (17). And if the official section isn't good enough for you, then take a look at a recent preview over at The Gamers Temple. Lots of stuff to read, then.. so you'd better get started!
