There be Pirates!
In Search of Pirates

The twins were really excited following the trip and instead of wanting to take it easy, they decided that they wanted to go in search of pirates. Apparently, the "Dishonourable Flouder", which was believed to be a pirate ship belonging to Captain Edward Dregg, had been brought ashore at South End Beach during a storm and this restored ship was one of the major tourist attractions. Even though it was only an hour from sundown, the twins pestered us enough for us to go for a walk and see what it was about. So off we went.

I must admit that me and Will were very impressed by the ship which could be clearly seen from a distance. It had been kept in a good state of repair. The twins were clearly delighted and quickly dashed onboard to explore. We followed afterwards. Bradley chose to climb up to the crow's nest, Yolanda simply went exploring and Will practised wielding a cutlass. For once, nobody seemed to mind that I was at the wheel.

Yolanda really appeared to be getting into it, raised the Jolly Roger and we all played pirates together. After a while, the sun went down and I chose to have look inside the captain's cabin. There were rumours that it was haunted, but as I hadn't seen Derek Acorah from "Simming TV" come here, I assumed that rumours was all that they were. It was very dark and I went in a few times to see what there was. The first time I came out with nothing. The second time, I came out with a map. The third time I came out with the Captain's Log. I'm surprised the Twikkii Island History Society had not got these already. The fourth time, though, was unexpected. The rumours were true and I came face to face with the ghost of Pirate Captain Edward Dregg!!

Strangely, he did not appear to be as fearsome as I had been led to believe. I even gave him a very bad joke about what do you find at the bottom of the sea (Answer: Nervous wrecks), which he seemed to like. I asked if he knew any Sea Chanteys and he obliged, producing a ghostly concertina and singing one for me. I was honoured and after a few renditions, I was able to sing it while he accompanied me. It was never this good for Yvette Fielding.

By midnight, however, we were all getting tired and it was a bit of a walk back to the hotel. For one day, we had accomplished quite a lot, I thought.

Gameplay Notes

  • The pirate ship has a lot of different things to do and is one of the objectives to complete when on a tropical island holiday.
  • Captain Dregg and his sea chantey is another of the objectives, so a trip to this ship is highly recommended. Jolene will be able to sing this chantey to other people.
  • The maps that Jolene recovered from the cabin are treasure maps.

  • "Bright and sunny, the sea looks lovely"

Once again, I am very impressed with the atmospheric diversity in locales and the work that EA has put into it. The multiple features of the ship are good and I can see the ingenious creators in the community utilising some of the new animations for other purposes and new creations.

In the next part of the review, we will be continuing with the Greshams, finding out what Jolene's map can produce and what other things can be discovered and done on Twikkii Island.
