HomeCrafter 2 possibly next Week [Update]
Dutch Sims fansite SP Zone has heard that a Sims 2 tool similar to HomeCrafter will be released on the official site next week. They don't know much except that the tool allows you to create floors and wallpapers. The site also says that this tool is one of a few that Maxis will release in the upcoming weeks. The news is from an anonymous source, and it's unclear whether it's from within EA or not. It also is not officially confirmed yet. Of course we'll keep you updated about this.

[Update 15 December 22:25] As you can read in the comments of this post, our affiliate Sim's Stash, has had a chance to interview Tim LeTourneau. There are questions about custom content tool, and Tim says some will follow "soon, very soon". To the question if a tool to create floors and walls will be released, a positive "definitely" is answered. There's still no official confirmation that a tool will be released next week though. See the full interview for more.

I e-mailed with Tim LeTourneau, Senior Producer for The Sims 2 University, earlier today about several TS2U questions. I have posted the full transcripts on my website (www.simsstash.uni.cc). In my e-mails I asked about custom content tools. Here is what Tim had to say about tools:

Sim’s Stash: Will more tools for custom content creation be released? And When can we expect to see them?
Tim: Yes. Soon, very soon.

Sim’s Stash: Will tools for creating wallpapers and floors be released sometime in the near future?
Tim: Definitely.

For the full Q&A with Tim LeTourneau about The Sims 2 University check out The Sim's Stash's TS2U Q&A here,Stash's TS2U Q&A w/ Maxis.

I am thinking that Maxis has something brewing in the custom content department. :-)
