Viruses - Watch them
You might have already read about this, but we are still getting many viruses every day. The most common ones lately are the Klez worm and the Yaha worm. The Klez worm can keep the most well-known virusscanners from running (including the system monitor functions of the scanners), and on Windows 2000/XP it also can disable the task manager. More detailed information about this one can be found at this page on Symantec Security Response. The Yaha worm spreads itself as screensaver through the Windows address book, the MSN Messenger, ICQ and Yahoo contact lists, and files with an extension with the letters ht. More information about that one is on this page.
Please update your virusscanner frequently, and scan regularly. If you don't have one, we highly recommend you to get one. Because many viruses come through email, it might be wise to get MailWasher. This free tool allows you to delete emails before you download them. That way, you can delete potential viruses easily before they can harm you. Note that this program does not always detect emails that contain viruses. The best way to check that, is by checking the subject, if it has an attachment, and when you check the "Full Headers" it has html code like <iframe> or similar in it.

Please watch out for any emails that may look like viruses, and don't open those. If you get a suspicous link or file from someone over ICQ, Yahoo or MSN Messenger, then please check that it's indeed safe and not a virus. We do protect ourselves as well as we can, and it's most unlikely that you get a virus that actually comes from us. The Klez-worm fakes the From-address, so it may seem to come from The Sims Zone while it actually doesn't. There's nothing we can do about that. So: please protect yourself against these pains. Thank you.
