TSZ is moving
Next week there will be a few slight changes coming to The Sims Zone: we are moving servers. The Sims Zone will be running one two separate servers, one for the files and several images, and another one for the actual pages. However, there will be no extreme changes. Some advantages are (expected) overall better performance of the site, especially in peak hours, and registration (to become a The Sims Zone member) will also work again soon after the move.

Even though there will be two different servers running The Sims Zone now, entering through www.thesimszone.co.uk will still work as normal, and from there you can go to any other part of the site. However, The Neighborhood Handler's subdomains (tnhh.thesimszone.co.uk and tnhhmanual.thesimszone.co.uk) will be temporarily unavailable. The temporary addresses will be www.thesimszone.co.uk/tnhh for the site, and www.thesimszone.co.uk/tnhh/manual for the manual (note that these new urls do not work yet!).

Besides these slight changes, the change that you will notice the most, will be new advertising banners on the site. Those will not be pop-ups, but 'regular' banners. We need them to help us paying all the bills. The ads will appear shortly before or shortly after the move, if not directly after the move.

We'll need at least one or two days to move the whole site over to the new server. That means The Sims Zone will be down for that period, and it will also not be updated. We will be moving on and/or around 8 and 9 May. If the move goes smoothly, then everything should be working correctly again before the weekend after that.

Better performance is a good thing, so i don't mind the long wait. it will be worth it. :D

Speaking as a member of the staff, I can not wait for the move.... I feel that it will only make a GREAT site more terriffic..... as for the ad banners...they are a neccessary evil to keep this from becoming a site not available to all...
