T-Mail #6
Tim has sent another e-mail to the community. This time he gives two screens of Nightlife, showing the day/night button in the neighborhood view. The team has put the finishing touches on the expansion pack, which quite possibly means that it's gone gold. Other than that he tells a bit about the fansite event at Maxis just over a week ago, where several website representatives, including me, visited to check out the Sims 2 on consoles and handhelds. Scot Amos and Virigina McArthur, producers for respectively the Consoles and Handhelds/Mobile versions of the Sims 2, are also introduced. They will probably send out e-mails like Tim in the near future. Read the entire mail in the Read More part, as usual, and see the screenshots by clicking the thumbnails below.

Nightlife At Day Nightlife At Night

"Hi Everyone,

"Thought I should give you a little update on everything going on with The Sims 2.

"We have just put the finishing touches on The Sims 2 Nightlife. I can’t believe you guys are going to playing it in just a few weeks. The team has had a blast making it and playing it. I can’t wait to see what you think of it. I know I’ve talked about different game features, but I thought I would share a new neighborhood feature I really like. Attached are two shots of the new Downtown neighborhood (you can build your own if you prefer of course). It is the same camera angle and the same scene, the only difference is that I clicked the Day/Night button on the Neighborhood UI, it works in regular neighborhoods as well, so it can be nighttime in any neighborhood.

"The Sims 2 Nightlife is not the only thing that we have been working on at Maxis and the other teams here have been heads down on The Sims 2 for Sony Playstation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube, Gameboy Advanced, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, and even Mobile Phones. A little over a week ago we had some members of the community here at Maxis to check out all the new versions of the The Sims 2 and give us some feedback. I thought be cool to point you guys at what they had to say on their sites. "I also wanted to take this opportunity to introduce Scott Amos and Virginia McArthur to you guys. Scot is in charge of the Playstation, Xbox, and Gamecube versions, and Virginia is on everything handheld. They both wanted the opportunity to drop you guys a note about what they are working on and give you a little insight into their teams and games."

"Talk to you soon,"

Tim
