"Urban Sims" called "The URBZ"
As you know we already told you about Urban Sims coming to the consoles a few days ago. EA has released their official press release today, but instead of using "Urban Sims" as title, it will probably be called "The URBZ" (which is a working title). As said Sims will go downtown, but we will no longer know them as Sims. Instead, they will be called "Urbz". You will be taking them to new places and jobs where you can follow your Urbz around 24/7, even on the job. The game will have a completely new graphics engine, as well as a new character customization engine. You can dress your Urbz any way you want, and even give them nose rings or tattoos. The reputation (rep) is the most important. As your Urb's rep grows, and if you have an EyeToy for the Playstation 2, then your Sim can look like you. You just have to "download" a photo of you using the EyeToy to the game. The GBA version will, as said, be more like the GBA version of Bustin' Out. Read the press release for more information. Expect a lot more info about this sequel to Bustin' Out in May during the E3. The release is scheduled to be at the same time on all platforms in fall 2004.

Visit www.TheUrbz.com to see what the new game logo might be.

Stash that is not an official EA or Maxis website. it is hosted on Yahoo. If you look up www.theurbz.com in the WHOIS directory you will see the domain is registered by Yahoo.

Wow The URBZ is an awful name. Sounds like a drug...

I too have my doubts about the name... People won't immediately recognise it as a "the Sims" game, plus the domain's already taken (although EA might buy it from the current owner, you never know). Meanwhile, UrbanSims.com is registered by EA, but has been locked (deactivated)... I guess there won't be a definite title yet for another while, like Makin' Magic was once called Spellbound...

Yeah I agree that "The URBZ" is not a good name. Because 1st, poeple won't recognize this as a Sim game. 2nd, The Sims in the CIty or Urban SIms is better.
Screenshots of URBZ in www.ign.com.
Just type The URBZ in the seacrh box.

Yeah, I agree with all of you guys... "the Urbz" just sounds kind of silly to me... it also is annoying that now the video game companys are trying to talk like the teens of 2004. I mean, come on, NBA Ballers? Great game, silly name. (They probably don't even know what our definition of a baller is). And now the "Urbz"... bleah! It just needs to stick to the Sims title, and work from there.
