okay so i posted earlier and i followed someones advice and deleted some stuff about the sims2 from my computer and then uninstalled it, I'm now trying to reinstall it but for some reason the D drive stopped reading disks! not only sims 2 but all of them.

Then your problem almost certainly has nothing to do with The Sims at all. It is probably something with your CD ROM or your Computer itself. Take it to a qualified expert or check with the manufacturere if it is still under warranty.
