Awnings, Split-Levels and Elevators
Awnings

Your market places and village fayres can now have awnings over the different stalls. There are numerous different types, some of which appear to be variations on a theme, but many of which are unique. This screenshot is taken from the back of Henderson House. Any dining or partying on the rear patio will now not be troubled by rain and the sun still shines through.

By the way, Maxis, I know this is slightly off-subject but will our sims ever be troubled by rain?

Split Level Interior Foundations

Ever wanted to put a foundation on a foundation and have raised areas in a room, be it a stage, half-landing or and otherwise split-level? Now you can. I can see this being very popular among the architects of the sim community. It is a pity these cannot be stacked, but it is a start and it is welcome. In the picture on the left, we see the new item from the menu. In the picture on the right, taken in the foyer at Henderson House is it in action.

Ascending In Style

Elevators finally make their official debut in TS2. On the right, we have an example of one of the elevators in place at Hastings Hall. There are two elevators types with the game, both supposed to only carry one person. Although I am yet to put it to the test, two amorous individuals are able to woohoo in an elevator which can have fatal consequences due to the overloading. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Elevators do not have to stop at every floor. A shaft piece allows the elevator to continue on its ascent. Also, doors do not have to face the same way as on lower floors. In theory, you could have four different floors where an elevator stops, each with a different way for the door to open.

Break Over

Lunch break is nearly over so we should better get back to work ourselves and we didn't even get time to show you the new outfits and hairstyles. I would say without any doubt that there is enough in this expansion that of a non-business nature that would make this EP appeal to almost all players.
