E3: IGN Hands-on The Sims 2 PSP
Over the few hours that I slept, a few articles were posted. One of them is at IGN PSP, which has had a hands-on of the Sims 2 on PlayStation Portable. As with other handheld games, the PSP version is set in Strangetown, unveiling some of its mysteries. There are several classic elements of the game, like build/buy mode, but different from the PC version is the direct control feature. As with the GBA version there is a Sanity meter, which streamlines the daily business of your Sim, as well as the story.

In the game, every NPC will have a secret to tell. By interacting with them you'll eventually unlock a social mini-game, in which you have to respond to the body language correctly. This was currently done using a simple system, in which you have to push the button the Sim is leaning in. The game can in the end become quite complex, and it might be harder to play the social game. In the end you'll be busy for a while spending time to reveal the 100 mysteries. As with all other handheld and console versions, you can go online to trade items, but there's no head-to-head gameplay. Technically the PSP version still had some glitches when it comes to framerate, but it's a detailed game. You can read the preview if you want some more precise details.
