HomeCrafter Plus Officially Announced [Update]
Tim LeTourneau, one of the producers over at Maxis, has confirmed that "The Sims 2 HomeCrafter Plus" will be released tomorrow on the official site. The tool will allow you to customize walls, floors and ground textures. Tim has confirmed this through a community mailing, which you can read in the "Read more" part of this post. He also included some screenshots of the tool, which you can check out before the program is released tomorrow. Of course, if by tomorrow you have any floors, walls or ground textures to submit to us, feel free to do so and they'll be added in our files database! Click the thumbnails of the screenshots below to see them in large, read on for Tim's words, and/or wait patiently until tomorrow.

[Update 21 December, 14:00] While many people are waiting for the tool, Maxis has placed an FAQ online on the official site. Head over to the HomeCrafter Plus FAQ for more information. The questions of the FAQ have been placed in our knowledge base as well. If you have any HomeCrafter Plus specific questions, feel free to post them - or answer others - in the new HomeCrafter Plus Category.

"Happy Holidays Everyone,

"I hope everyone liked last week's download on thesims2.com. Though I've got to say, I've been so impressed with the Christmas Trees the community members have been making on their own. I continue to be blown away by your creativity and ingenuity.

"That's why I'm super-excited to give you the best holiday gift I can think of (and you thought we were done with the giving...). You guys get the exclusive announcement today, and tomorrow on the thesims2.com, The Sims 2 HomeCrafter Plus will be available for everyone to download. Customize Walls, Floors, and Ground Textures to your heart's content.

"I know we've been really quiet about it, but isn't it better as a surprise? Here are a couple of shots of what things look like.

"I'm counting on you to let everyone know that it's coming tomorrow. You've got the exclusive!

"Also I expect to see some amazing screenshots by the end of the day on Tuesday once everyone has had a couple hours to goof around.

"Have Fun and Happy Holidays (I think I know how some will be spending them!),"

Tim
