New Sims 2 shots
Maxis has sent around three new screenshots of The Sims 2, this time showing three different decor collections which you can decorate your Sims 2 houses with. They are Asian, Modern and Moroccan. Click the thumbnails below to see the images in their full glory. Here's what Luc Barthelet has to say about the collection feature, which we already mentioned in our The Sims 2 University Special:
"In The Sims 2, decorating reaches new heights of style and sophistication. You will be now be able to choose objects for your Sims' environment from a dozen new décor styles. The game will include a variety of themed style collections that include Asian, Modern and Moroccan. The collections will include furniture, accessories, and wall and floor treatments from each specific theme. Players will also be able to add, delete, or create new objects within these collections or create an entirely new collection. We imagine that players will enjoy creating and sharing their own decor collections with one another. Who needs those home decorating shows when you have The Sims 2?"

Wow, Those were some awesome themes, but i have a question. I was wondering if maybe you could put on TS2 a 'paint brush" type tool. sort of like the grass tool on The Sims. This way the furniture theme doesn't have to match but the color could. For example say i want an asian style bed but i want a morracan style dresser, i could put those together and paint them the same stain or paint color so they could match. I though it was a pretty good idea, but you may think otherwise. Please let me know what you think.

First of all, we don't make the Sims so we don't have very much influence on it either.

Secondly, you can simply change the style of an object, wall, floor, etc. with just a few mouseclicks. That is a per-object setting, so you can mix styles, or make them all match using the collections.

A real painting tool, where you can "live" paint the object will not be in the game. You can only do that manually by creating new textures for the objects, which comes down to editing some bitmaps. You can then change the colours of any object, and so (for example) give a modern couch an asian look.

Downloading games is illegal, and we cannot help you with that.
