Alyssa is immune from being evicted this week due to being the "last man standing". Tiger's gamble has therefore backfired and he knows he is facing the public vote. Can he keep this a secret from the housemates?

Today, the housemates are given their new task but firstly, they have to make their first proper nominations.

9.00am - The housemates are getting up. Most of them are in the kitchen having toasted marmalade sandwiches that Martha has prepared.

Sim Brother (C) - Sim Brother hopes you are well rested following your last challenge.
John - I could have done with a few more hours sleep.
SB - Welcome to your next task. Before, you exercised your memory and your knowledge of astronomy. This time, you are going to be exercising your mind but on the other side.
Steve - The great gala has lost me here.
SB - Housemates, you are going to become artists. For the next four days, you are going to learn to paint using various mediums. You have art books in the bookcase and easels to practice your craft. On the last day of the challenge, you are going to each paint a unique work of art without use of props or models. This unique work in whatever medium or form is going to be evaluated by a representative of the portrait section of the Regras Gorge Tate gallery to see if they meet their exacting requirements. Only one failure can be allowed from the group. Otherwise ...
John - Mac and Cleese all week?
SB - Your choice of foodstuffs will be limited. Yes.
John - Well, I can only hope my painting is better than my singing.

12.00pm - The housemates are busy working on the easels starting on basic art strokes.

Sim Brother (C) - Could Alyssa please come to the diary room?

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, Alyssa. Congratulations upon winning the immunity challenge. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
Alyssa - Thankyou, Sim Brother. The first person I wish to nominate is Arnie. Although I have worked with him in the past, I find him to be pushy and a pain in the ass. I would feel a lot more comfortable if he wasn't here.
SB - And your second nomination?
Alyssa - I was going to choose John but I respect him for sticking it out so long with the immunity challenge. Instead, although I think I could like the guy, I am going to nominate Tiger. The reason? I just don't identify with him. There is so little I know about him whereas there are things about the others that I do.
SB - And those names again?

Alyssa - Arnold and Tiger.

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, Arnold. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
Arnold - Hello, Sim Bruder. I wanted my first one to be for the biggest "girlie-girl" who is Alyssa. Ohh, poor me, Arnie hit me with a wasser balloon. But I can't. It has to be for "Marmalade Martha" as my first nomination as I don't like her taking over the kitchen.
SB - And your second nomination?
Arnold - I did think of John but instead I am going for my fellow politician. Condi. She is a strong adversary and although she did a good job in the challenge, she is too powerful an opponent.
SB - And those names again?

Arnold - Martha und Condoleezza

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, Condoleezza. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
Condoleezza - Hello, Sim Brother. My first nomination is for Martha. Although a strong and powerful woman, she is throwing her weight around too much. I quite liked what was a porpoise topiary and now she's turned it into a llama head. Let's keep the status quo for just a bit longer, and I want my marmalade on my toast and not on my spaghetti, thankyou very much.
SB - And your second nomination?
Condoleezza - It has to be Arnie. He's too pushy and if I wasn't mistaken, I would say he has a sexist agenda in that women are not strong enough and don't deserve to win Sim Brother.
SB - And those names again?

Condoleezza - Martha (2) and Arnold (2)

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, John. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
John - Hello. Just one thing before I begin.
SB - What is that, John?
John - Can I nominate myself?
SB - No, you can't.
John - Jolly good. Then my first nomination is that strange antipodean chap. Steve. I just don't understand the chap's lingo from time to time. He's awfully nice but not quite my cup of tea or slice of toast ... with marmalade of course.
SB - And your second nomination?
John - Now this is a tough one. I would have put Alyssa in my list but she beat me fair and square. I'm just not as young as I used to be. I remember back in the days of Monty Python-
SB - John, as much as Sim Brother would like to hear your anecdotes, this is not the time or place. Who is your second nomination?
John (haughty) - Fine. See if I care. The past isn't important, eh?
SB (sighing) - John, Sim Brother does not wish to sound abrupt or offensive. Sim Brother has three more housemates to see for their nominations. Otherwise, tonight's poll will not be up.
John - I like so many people, Sim Brother. They are all really nice. This is very hard on me. She's a lovely woman and her cooking is very ... unique ... but I'm sorry but it will have to be Martha.
SB - And those names again?

John - Steve and Martha (3)

With more than half of the nominations given, as well as Tiger by default, Martha and Arnold will be facing the public vote.

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, Martha. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
Martha - Arnold. He may hold a high public office but in this house, he's got to learn to wipe his .... shoes. The Governator is too big for his boots.
SB - And your second nomination?
Martha - This is a tough one. Mr. T or Condi? I have decided that it has got to be Condi. She has class, a lot of class but I get the impression a lot of this is an act and she got to where she is in this house and outside by her looks and not her talent.
SB - And those names again?

Martha - Arnold (3) and Condoleezza (2)

Martha and Arnold will definitely be facing the public vote with 3 votes.

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, Steve. It is up to you whether you jump up and down on the chair or whether you would be more comfortable sitting down.
Steve - Happy jumping, thanks.
SB - As you wish. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
Steve - G'day, Sim Bro. How are you doing? .... Oh. You want my nomination? Then the first one has got to be Mr. T. Tiger. I just don't know the man. He's quiet and pensive and not outgoing.
SB - And your second nomination?
Steve - That's got to be John. He's just a stuck up pommie who'd rather shoot a croc with an elephant gun instead of wrestling it with his bare hands.
SB - And those names again?

Steve - Tiger (2) and John.

Sim Brother (C) - Hello, Tiger. You know you will be automatically facing the public vote. Would you please give the names of the first person you wish to nominate and why?
Tiger - As my first choice is safe, I've reconsidered my options. It has to be Steve. I don't really know him and he's too brash. If he saw a 5-iron, he'd probably use as a spit on a campfire to roast a snake when he could use something less important to life than a precious golf club.
SB - And your second nomination?
Tiger - Arnold. He is pushy and shows a lack of knowledge. If it can't be terminated, it's not important to him. Therefore, he is not important to me by making the cut for the next round.
SB - And those names again?

6.15pm - The housemates are back in the garden working on their easels and making the most of the light.

Sim Brother (A) - As April 25th is this Sim Brother's 42nd birthday, you are all being given a party. A marmalade-free buffet, bar, champagne and a set of karaoke CDs have all been made available. All of you must get up and sing something that Sim Brother has selected for you. That includes you, John.

After a few drinks and the housemates relaxing with food and drink that Sim Brother has laid on, the housemates get up to sing the songs that Sim Brother has assigned to them.

John does get up to sing "My Way" by Frank Sinatra and does his way ... rather tunelessly and loudly. Closer to the "Sex Pistols" version, in fact.

The evening ended with them all getting up to sing to "(Is this the way to) Amarillo" by Tony Christie (as mimed by Peter Kay for "Comic Relief" and if you haven't bought the single yet, please buy it. It's Tony Christie's birthday as well today. Happy Birthday, Tony)
