Help with Bustin' Out cheats

Many people seem to be having trouble entering the cheats for Bustin' Out. Some people managed to get it to work though. If you want more details, click here for a previous news post to which many people have replied with details about the cheats on various platforms. The cheats page has also been updated, and you can view that by clicking here.

When entering the codes, remember that they have to be entered very quickly (within 1.5 seconds). You may also want to try in both live and buy (paused) mode, as it seems that cheats work only in either of them. On the PS2, L3 and R3 refer to pressing the analog sticks down, something that not everybody knows. Finally, the cheats are different for every console, so you should make sure to type the correct ones. The money cheat has only been confirmed for the X-Box so far, and not for the PS2 or GameCube.

It's wise to post questions in the comments of this news item. Click here to read them as well. I don't have the game myself and am unable to test the cheats for you. Using the comments you'll be able to reach a lot more people. Of course any feedback, especially if the cheats did work for you, is appreciated as well, by many people. Please post a comment if you managed to get the cheats to work, with details on which console (PS2, GameCube or X-Box) and how exactly you entered them. That will help many people.

I have the Sims Bustin' Out for the PS2 and I want to know what the "Give Money" option is. I was trying to get the money cheat. Please Help!!

There's no way to get money easily on the PS2 - or it's not been discovered at least. I've heard that when entering the gnome cheat, you'll get a phone call every day, with which you can earn a little amount of money, though I haven't yet been able to confirm this. Getting §10,000 through the gnome has only been confirmed for X-Box so far.

Here's some more help from Carl Wheeler about the cheats on the X-Box version, which I received a couple of days ago:

Apparently your Sim doesn't even have to go near the gnome. After you click on the gnome and get the option to "Give Money" it will give you $10,000. Sometimes you have to keep trying it but I found that if you rapidly click on him you can raise your money up pretty quickly.

So, yes the gnome is out of bounds and he stays there until you do the code again. All you have to do is move the cursor over it, select it, and select the option to "give money." I hope this made some sense :)

I have a gamecube and i cant get any codes to work i am putting them in as fast as i can and nothing. help please!!!!!

I have a PS2 with "The Sims: Bustin' Out"

I also have used all these cheats, and they do work. You have to be very quick and accurate. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it. But they DO work.

The Gnome code must be enabled for any of the other codes to work.

All codes are entered while the game is paused while in the buy menu, except for "Raise Motives" which is the only cheat to be entered in live mode (not paused).

Gnome: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press R2, L1, R1, L2, Left, Circle You will hear a female sim "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry, and a gnome should appear near the mailbox.

Easy Money: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L1, R2, Right, Square, L3. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Then click the gnome in live mode & choose "Give Money" to get §10,000. Do the code in reverse to disable it.

Raise motives: In Live mode, quickly press L2, R1, Left, Circle, Up. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Then click the gnome in live mode & choose "Raise Motives" to fill completely back up. Do the code in reverse to disable it.

All Objects unlocked: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L2, R2, Up, Triangle, L3 You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Do the code in reverse to disable it.

All Locations unlocked: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press R2, R3, L3, L2, R1, L1 You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. This code can be entered any time after your Sim woke up at Mom's House.

All Socials unlocked: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L1, R1, Down, X, L3+R3. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Do the code in reverse to disable it.

Team Photo: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L3, R3, R1, R2. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Do the code in reverse to disable it.

Note: L3 refers to pressing the left analog stick down. R3 is the same for the right analog stick.

I hope this has help some of you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Again, just remember, these codes have to be done quick and accurate. Which is hard with L3 & R3. But keep trying. You'll get it. Good Luck!

Whoa there i'll be playing the sims on ps2 tonight thats for sure. Thanks, i'll post back later to tell you if it worked. So yeah man my writting being in bold is getting on my nerves.
