depends what your doing.If you have superstar its hard to be famouse and some jobs are pretty hard to keep up with and you still get fired even when you die so sorta......

It depends on the expansion packs you have. Also, if you are higher in the career track then it is harder to get a promotion. I've found it is pretty easy to get a promotion right away on the first or second day. With the expansion pack Makin' Magic, it is hard to win duels, get magicoins, and grow the sprigs.
