No because you can paint/carpet it however you like and they really don't give a stuff about how it's done as long as it's been done.

So if they've been sleeping in a crib through their toddler stage, they really won't care if they eventually get a bed?

Well toddlers can't sleep in a bed anyway and children can't sleep in the crib so either way they'll have to use the bed at some stage.

for obvious reasons yes, teens like to have a mirror to check themselves out, children want toys in the room, cribs and changing tables are only used on tolders so after they grow it doesnt matter as far as color and carpet etc, doesnt matter either. Sims will laugh at certain things though like decor. My dad sims laughs at teenagers concert posters, teen sims laugh at sunflowers in vase.
