Can Sims visit a neighbor instead of the neighbor always visiting them, because then you can meet people much quicker?

if you're talking about the sims 2 then no you can't. But they can call you, and you can invite them over for a sleepover

Except sleepover doesn't work!

The invited Sim will only do a few things to keep their mood up, like play on PC or interact with toddler etc., but they will never use a bed or shower/bath - and they might just kidnap the infant in the morning!

they will use a bed only if they get tired so if you invite them nearer to bedtime they wont be tired so therefore wont sleep at all lol

Inviting "nearer to bedtime" won't make a difference because visitors turn up pretty much awake and well even at 2 in the morning. Have to wait for their energy level to deplete before they go to bed.

No the best thing for a sleep over is to invite them earlier in the day and hang out as normal then they will be tired at the same time as your child but make sure there is an extra bed!!!
