Actually you cannot. The Sims 2 is a completely separate game, and because it's 3D and basically completely different, old Sims 1 things won't work in The Sims 2.

You can have The Sims 1 (+ expansions) and The Sims 2 installed at the same time, but they will be two different games.

You haven't though. Think how many hours of play you can get out of the existing products. Besides, its good that Maxis are moving on...some people felt that the existing franchise was a cash cow. If they're prepared to start a whole new and improved line, then why are we arguing?

Of course not! Have you seen Sims 2? It's completly different! The graphics are different, the way the Sims act is different. It would be impossible to make an EP that could accomodate completly different games.

you can not use the sims one expension packs on the sims 2.they are going to create new expension packs for the sims 2.
