Can anyone give me an "overview" of the Sims Vacation because i plan on eventually buying it but most of my friends who have a lot of the expansions say this one is a waste of money?

i have got this game! It is ssssssssooooooo brill but i s'pose its a personal opinion!

Yes u can take thesims on a family holiday and you can meet new friends, send postcards, buy new gifts, buy a new swim suit, play vollyball, play other games that u can only play with vacation island and make and detruct holiday hotals to your advantage!

I think its ssssoooo kewl but its up to u! If you buy it and u dont like it then the shop will prob let u take it back within the seven days of buying it!

If you have now bought the game, then one of the nicest new animations (its dubbed as a "special moment" in the strategy guide) can be found when you use the Snowman Kit, an adult and one of your kids.

Basically, go on holiday to the mountains where there is snow and a rental shed. Hire a snowman kit from the shed (may take multiple attempts) with an adult Sim and then find one of your kids, click on them and choose Join to get them to come and help build the snowman.

After it takes shape (which is dependant on creativity levels of the adult sims involved) and is virtually complete, the child nearest to the adult should start jumping up and down screaming "pick me up!" in simmish; the adult will then do just that so the kid can add facial features to the snowman, a scarf, pipe and a hat. The kid will be very happy and it boosts relationship scores between the kid and its parent.

Well I thought it was a very nice and sweet touch :)

Well Vacation is a good way to bump up the number of family friends because you can use the kids to befriend other kids which count overall towards your total.

But Vacation generally is not too bad, it has some nice new toys and wallpapers and objects and what not. Build snowmen or sandcastles, go fishing, wear funky winterwear and win awards as well.

Plus of course you can build your own resort or customise one of the existing ones. I built my own, every bit as good as the default ones (but then I'm biased :)).
